What your child wears.
Uniforms are required all year. Tops must carry the school logo. The dress code is enforced after the first two weeks of school, so there is time to get sorted.

French Toast, through the school
Our primary provider. Sizing, ordering and questions are all arranged through the school office, so ask us first and skip the guesswork.

Every top must carry the school logo. Wherever you buy the polo, bring it here to be embroidered.

Buy all the polos you need in one go, then take them to McDowell together. One trip, one setup, and everything is ready before the first day.
For assemblies, special events, field trips and Fall Picture Day, every child wears full uniform attire: a red logo polo with navy pants, shorts, skirt or skort. Not burgundy, not forest green. Keep one red polo clean for it, and check the calendar for the date each month.
See the calendar →The dress code is enforced after the first two weeks of school. After that, uniform infractions can mean a child is sent home, so it is worth getting right early. Full uniform is required for field trips, Student of the Month assemblies, fall pictures and special events.
Where parents actually shop.
Polos and bottoms can come from anywhere as long as the color and style match. These links are pre-filtered to school uniform pieces. Buy plain, then have the logo added.
- Color. Burgundy, red, forest green or navy for tops. Khaki or navy for bottoms. Retailer names vary, so compare to the swatches below.
- Style. No cargo pockets on boys’ pants or shorts. Skirts are third through fifth grade only.
- The logo. Nothing is finished until it is monogrammed. Budget a few days for McDowell.
These links are provided as a convenience for families. The school has no arrangement with any of these retailers and earns nothing from them.
Polos and socks.
Polo shirts come in four school colors, all with the logo. Bottoms are khaki or navy.
Socks are solid only, in forest green, navy, red, black, burgundy or white. Ankle, knee length or tights are all fine.
