The challenging curriculum at The Palm Desert Learning Tree Center prepares students for academic and personal success at a selective private, public middle, or junior high school. Our scholastic standards are high. Stimulating intellectual work is required in every class, guided by dynamic and creative teachers.
Our medium-sized classes, with a maximum of 20 students per one teacher, ensure consistent and positive interaction between teachers and students, and help maximize student performance and participation. Our goal is to develop independent students who can handle the responsibility of academic work based on solid direction, thereby increasing confidence in the classroom.
Our alumni consist of ten celebrated valedictorians and one salutatorian that received their beginning at The Palm Desert Learning Tree Center. At The Palm Desert Learning Tree Center, students are encouraged to strive for educational and personal excellence. Within this caring family environment, students reach beyond their own expectations and take extreme pride in their accomplishments.
"Excited about the upcoming school year, we recognized the importance of maintaining the level of excellence that has been maintained over the last 41 years at The Palm Desert Learning Tree Center.
The success that comes from associating yourself with this fine institution cannot be measured or valued in monetary amounts. What happens in life’s accomplishments are repeated in multiple ways based on foundations that are solid.
Your family has initiated standards from home that have prepared your child to live in this world with character and integrity. We will also uphold those standards as well as engage solid standards of education that will provide the proper foundation to move successfully through the next levels of their educational journey.
There is a standard set in our educational development, and it is identified through leadership, teaching environment, curriculum, administrative vitality, and measurements of achievement.
We have high regard for you as we recognize that you have a choice in your child’s education. We wish you well as you consider 'a creative and healthy environment designed with the child in mind.'”

The Palm Desert Learning Tree Center opened its doors to students in October 1980. The founding partners, the Cravens and the Morways, along with parents, teachers, and community leaders envisioned a school that would provide excellence in education.
The Palm Desert Learning Tree Center was initially established as a preschool but grew rapidly through the support of parents and a long waiting list. In 1983, kindergarten, first, and second grades were established, and our second property, where we now reside, was purchased.
In 1984-85, our elementary program grew to include third, fourth, and fifth grades. Our student body increased to nine elementary classrooms. Presently, our elementary program goes through fifth grade.
We're currently operating under the same administration and with several original teachers from the first years. The Palm Desert Learning Tree Center has evolved to over 200 students, a maintained staff of excellent teachers, and high academic and moral standards.
The Palm Desert Learning Tree Center - "With the Child in Mind," helps to assure the continued quality and direction toward excellence.
Teachers, staff, and administration at The Palm Desert Learning Tree Center provide students with sound academic fundamentals, critical thinking skills, and strong study habits. This enables our students to pursue and enjoy a well-rounded and superior education at the elementary level.
By providing and having students conquer a challenging and creative curriculum, our students experience success and develop an increased sense of self-worth. Through their interactions within a diversified student body, they grow socially and learn respect and appreciation of others.
At The Palm Desert Learning Tree Center, students are encouraged to strive for educational and personal excellence. Within this caring family environment, students reach beyond their own expectations and take extreme pride in their accomplishments.
The experience of leadership truly distinguishes The Palm Desert Learning Tree Center. While leadership is always earned and exercised in the obvious, traditional ways, it is also assumed in many subtle ways and is always learned through experience.
Students learn to initiate, guide, and direct while honoring the principles of the school: fairness, unity, and respect. Three major themes govern all of our procedures: respect of self, respect of others, and respect of property.
All students are significant participants in the life of the school. The Student Council is responsible for taking the lead in establishing and maintaining standards of positive attitude and behavior, representing the needs of the students, and serving as a link between the students and school administrators.
We've found that students respond favorably to limited class size, yet there must be opportunities to establish varied relationships. Though our class size has a maximum of 20, kindergarten prep through 5th grade, it is necessary to provide an opportunity for good social development.
Playground time is available for free, supervised play four times per day. This allows the students to establish relationships and friendships.
Our full-day elementary program emphasizes fundamental skills in reading, writing, mathematics, motor abilities, and speech. The curriculum includes art, music, natural and physical sciences, social studies, computer technology, cooking, and physical education. Most importantly, we strive to develop individual personalities and positive social behavior.
